Mark Your Calendar For The 29th Annual Goblin Gallop

Halloween footrace

There’s something special about the fall season. Not only does it get cooler and leaves change colors, but it’s also the time of year for Halloween. However, there’s another reason to love fall. If you enjoy 5K runs and walks, you’ll have no problem finding several where you live. A perfect example is the Goblin Gallop 5K.

Spending Quality Time Outdoors

Because it’s not as hot in the fall, this is an ideal time to spend more time outside. You can go fishing, visit a conservation area to hike, or participate in 5K marathon events. Regardless, this allows you to enjoy the beautiful air and scenery that goes hand in hand with fall.

An Annual Event

If you live in Glens Falls, New York, or you plan to visit in mid to late October, consider participating in the 29th annual Goblin Gallop 5K event. The route of the race will begin at the Abraham Wing School. Not only is this a great way to enjoy the outdoors, but it’s also good exercise and a lot of fun.

Halloween Themed

One reason so many people get involved with the Goblin Gallop 5K is that the organizers give it a Halloween theme. As runners make their way around the pre-marked course with two loops in the downtown area, they’ll see a broad range of spooky things.

A Miniature Version

If you have children who like to run, they can participate in the 1K version of the Goblin Gallop. Also called the Halloween Hop, this event will let your kids have a blast. Right after they cross the finish line, each child will receive a bag full of treats.

Important Information about the Goblin Gallop 5K

The entry fee for this race is $25. However, if you’re an Adirondack runner, you’ll pay only $22 if you log onto the ADR runner website. Either way, this event is worth every penny. Also, the first 150 people to register will receive a free drawstring sports backpack.

Both the packet pickup and registration for race day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and go through to 9:00 a.m. Again, everyone is to meet at the Abraham Wing School, located at 120 Lawrence Street. While there isn’t a planned award ceremony, this is an excellent way to bring people together.

Charitable Event

The greatest thing about the annual Goblin Gallop 5K is that it serves as a fundraiser for the Nepal Village School Project. So, all proceeds go to charity. As seen many years prior, the money will help build a new Regional Secondary building in a remote Nepal village. This gives underprivileged children the opportunity to get an education.
