Crandall Park
Just off Route 9 and Upper Glen Street is where you’ll find an amazing frozen pond. As long as the weather permits, it’s open seven days a week from dawn to dusk. Not only is this outdoor rink lighted, but it also doesn’t cost anything to enjoy.
Gurney Lane Recreation Area
You can skate on this frozen pond during the weekends. In addition, it’s open during school recess. It opens at 10:00 a.m. and doesn’t close until 4:00 p.m. There is a $5 fee to enter the park but only for people between ages 5 and 59. Otherwise, it’s free. In addition, the warming hut has restrooms inside.
Moreau Recreation Park
This frozen pond opens for skating Monday through Sunday at 8:00 a.m. While it closes at 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, it remains open until 8:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday. It doesn’t cost anything to skate there. However, you’ll need to bring skates as rentals aren’t available.

Cool Insuring Arena
This rink is in Glens Fall and offers public skating all winter. Admission is just $5 per person. Many people like to skate there because it’s well-maintained.
Glens Falls Recreation Center

Not only is there no charge to get in, but skate rentals are only $3. In addition, this recreation center provides lessons for anyone interested.
Saratoga Springs Weibel Avenue Ice Rink
Of all ice-skating rinks in or near Glens Falls, this is probably everyone’s favorite. After all, it’s Olympic size. While the public pays $5 for admission, residents of Saratoga Springs with Blue Rec cards pay $4. Along with skate rentals, it offers a blade-sharpening service.
