If you crave the juicy flavor, it’s all coming from meat with higher fat content. When you head to the supermarket, be sure to purchase beef that is no leaner than 85 percent. While the juicy flavor comes from fattier beef, the more the fat, the more the meat will be shrink. Therefore, you will also want to make sure the meat is grounded coarsely.
Too Much of a Good Thing
Have you ever heard the saying “too much of a good thing isn’t such a good thing”? The same goes for salt intake. Whether you choose to marinate your burgers in the all-famous Dale’s, barbeque sauce, or dried herbs and spices, be sure you don’t add any additional salt. While you may add salt to just about every meal, it will dry out your meat while it cooks on the grill.
Making the Patties
Not too thick and not too thin! When making your patties, shoot to form them 3/4 inch-inch thick. Be sure to also make dents in the center to ensure they don’t burst or swell.
The Process On the Grill
Once the burgers are on deck, while it may be fun to show off your skills, be sure to only flip them once. Also, don’t press down on the burgers with your spatula, as this only soaks out all of the juicy flavors. To ensure they are cooked at the proper temperature of 160 degrees F, insert a thermometer into the patty.
