Irish Spiced Beef
You want your family dinner to be filling. Therefore, something packed with protein can help. Moreover, a dish that can serve a lot of people is a good option too. Irish spiced beef only takes 20 minutes to prepare. The bake tie is four hours, but the results will be mouthwatering goodness. Here’s what you need for the meal:
- One third of a cup of packed brown sugar
- Three fourth of a cup of coarse sea salt
- One fourth of a cup of chopped onions
- Four bay leaves, crushed
- Three teaspoons of pepper
- Two teaspoons of dried rosemary, crushed
- One and a half teaspoons of ground cloves
- Two teaspoons of dried thyme
- One and a half teaspoons of ground allspice
- Four medium onions, sliced
- Three medium carrots, sliced
- Two celery ribs, sliced
- Two cups of beef broth
Furthermore, you can include rye bread, Swiss cheese slices, and Dijon mustard.
You will begin by putting the beef in a large baking dish. Next, rub it with brown sugar. Then, cover it and refrigerate for twenty four hours. You will then take a small bowl and mix the salt, onion, bay leaves, and seasons. Rub this mixture over the beef, cover it, and refrigerate for up to three days. Turn and rub the salt mixture into the beef once each day.
After this time, you will then preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Remove the salt mixture and dispose of it. Put the onions, celery, carrots, and broth in a roasting pan and add water halfway up the brisket. Roast it while covered for four to four and a half hours. Importantly, make sure the meat is tender. For best results, cool the meat in the juices for an hour.

Lastly, remove the beef and discard the vegetables and juices. Moreover, put the beef in a 13-inch-by-9-inch baking dish. Cover it and refrigerate overnight. You should then cut diagonally across the grain into thin slices. The beef goes great on rye bread with mustard and Swiss cheese.
