It’s mid-April and if you haven’t completed your spring cleaning, you are probably well on your way. Now it’s time to start thinking about ways to update the interior of your home. Does your kitchen need a fresh paint job? What about new appliances? However you plan to invest in your home this year, we think these 2022 home trends for kitchens and bathrooms are worth a look.

Smart Home Systems

Two of the best places to find new home ideas — the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show and the International Builders Show.  This year, both shows were full of smart systems that promise to make it easier to maintain a cleaner, more sanitary home environment.  Toto introduced its Washlet G450 Integrated Smart Toilet. Legrand is launching a new line of motion-activated lights. And, Moen and Kohler have both created whole-home water systems that can detect leaky pipes and prevent your pipes from freezing.

Green is the New “It” Color

Are you thinking about updating the walls of your kitchen or bathroom? Well, green is the color of the year for three of the top paint companies. Behr, Benjamin Moore, and Sherwin Williams all choose a shade of green as the 2022 color of the year. So, if you’re keen on staying on-trend, go for mossy hues, juniper, or sage colors.

Indoor Gardens

If you’re interested in incorporating green without a fresh paint job, why not add an indoor garden? Several brands have released easy-to-use indoor garden systems. The indoor garden options on the market range in price from the affordable Lettuce Grow Farmstand to the high-end Natufia Smart Garden system.

All-In-One Appliances

Air-fryers have been one of the most talked-about appliances to buy. But if you still haven’t given them a try and you are ready to upgrade your oven, you might not have to make a separate purchase. Several top appliance brands now have oven and range systems with air-fry modes. So, if you shop with GE, Whirlpool, or Frigidaire, you can get an all-in-one oven, range, and air-fryer. If so, you won’t have to take up valuable kitchen real estate for the small, versatile appliance.
