Especially in the fall, it’s easy to find a lot of things to do. If you live in Queensbury, New York, or you plan to visit Thursday, Nov. 24, you can participate in the Glens Falls walk/run event. This is a great way to spend quality time outdoors. You can join other walkers and runners as an individual or participate with family or friends.
What’s the Glens Falls Walk/Run Event About?
As the second annual race, this event helps the Open Door Mission located on Warren Street. All proceeds support this organization’s efforts to improve the community. So, not only will you enjoy a beautiful Thanksgiving morning and get some exercise, but you’ll also do something for a good cause.
In 2021, the proceeds from this event ensured that more than 6,600 children received meals. In addition, the mission distributed 17,500 plus meals to members of the community. More than 1,800 people had beds to sleep in during the Adirondack winter, as well as beds for roughly 6,200 homeless individuals.
Considering the success of the first Glens Falls walk/run event, it’s expected that this year’s proceeds can accomplish a lot more. This event helps people in three poverty-stricken areas of New York. They include Washington, Northern Saratoga, and Warren counties.
