BBQ Meats

The kids are out of school and cooking a homemade meal every night this week seems daunting. With the added task of planning a holiday trip or your big holiday dinner, we understand the feeling. So, we’ve created a list of local restaurants offering you some non-holiday-style options (because we all know you’ll soon be inundated with leftover honey-glazed ham, mashed potatoes, and gravy). Between a rack of ribs, hog wings, or a bowl of chili, one of these local BBQ restaurants are bound to delight.

Bebob’s Backstreet BBQ

This local restaurant boasts of a no-frills environment with down-home cooking and finger-licking-inducing BBQ sauce.  With late night hours and a schedule packed with local musicians several nights a week, Bebob’s Backstreet BBQ is a great option for a night out with your SO.  Their menu has a mix of roadhouse favorites like chicken tenders, fried pickles, hand cut fries or mozzarella sticks you can take home to the kiddos.  They also serve some delicious originals like their Texas poppers — a brisket and bacon wrapped jalapeno popper — or The Dandy Andy, a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with mac-n-cheese and a pulled pork — yum.

Adirondack

Located on Canada Street, Adirondack is open Thursday through Sunday and has a great dinner menu offering several types of cuisine including Chipotle,  Seafood, and – you guessed it – BBQ. While the BBQ selection at Adirondack isn’t huge, the items that make the menu are mouth-watering. If you’ve got a taste for barbeque you can choose between braised ribs, a pulled-pork sandwich, or the bowl of gooey goodness that is their pulled-pork mac and cheese.

The Barnsider Smokehouse

With a robust menu, The Barnsider Smokehouse is a great restaurant for the whole family.  They’ve even got a few entrée options for the non-BBQ-lover in the group. You can start your meal with a basket of crispy green bean fries, steamed clams, or a soup and salad combo. Then move on to a juicy burger, a BBQ soaked rack of baby back ribs, or even a filet of Cajun-style grilled catfish. The kids menu offers everything from PB&J to a pulled pork sandwich so there’s something that is sure to appeal to the little one. The Barnsider Smokehouse is located right off of US 9 and offers online ordering with curbside pick-up if you’d rather enjoy your meal at home.
