The walking tour lasts about an hour and a half and covers 1 mile. However, you must register beforehand to take part in the downtown tour. You can do so by calling 518-793-2826. The cost is $10 per person. Moreover, be aware that at least four people need to register for the tour to run.
The Route

The second stop is the Church of the Messiah, which began construction in 1854 and finished in 1865. It’s found at 296 Glen Street. Just down the road is the city’s Civil War monument, built in 1872, seven years after the war ended. The 120-ton monument is made of Vermont sandstone. Another intriguing old building is at 20 Maple Street. Here, you’ll find the Crandall Carriage House. It’s south of the city park and was built in 1870. City Hall, built in 1900, is close by the hotel, at 42 Ridge Street. It was eventually known as Village Hall until 1908. At this time, Glens Falls and Queensbury became two separate cities. On 92, you can explore the Glens Falls Academy. This historic building was constructed in 1841 and was home to a private school until 1914. Furthermore, the former post office, St. Mary’s Church, Ordway Hall, the Saunders Building, and the Rutliff Hotel are along the route.
