Summer is almost here, which means our sinuses will finally get a break from the brutal pollen, school is letting out, and of course, your car needs some TLC. Although, there are several spring days left to enjoy. If you are unsure where to start with caring for your ride this spring, check out these four ways!

Clean Up!

Sometimes, cleaning your car isn’t only about making sure it looks good. It’s also about washing away the winter grime. After hitting the roads during the winter, especially a brutal one in New York, your car carries around salt, grime, and debris if it is not washed regularly. After such a chilly season, your ride needs a thorough clean-up, including a wash underneath to remove dirt and grime.

Do a Tire Pressure Check

During the winter season, the cool weather will also make your tire pressure drop. Therefore, when the weather becomes warmer during the spring and summer, the higher temperatures make your tire’s pressure rise. Too much of a good thing isn’t such a good thing. Therefore, a tire packed with too much air will wear down easily on the road. When having your tire pressure checked, also have the tread checked, as it may be time for a tire rotation as well.

Wiper Blades

They say April showers bring May flowers! Spring is the rainiest season by far, which is sure to wear out your wipers. You should change out your blades about every six months, but that will also depend on how much it has rained and how often you operate your vehicle. You don’t want to get stuck on the road without wiper blades that are in optimal condition, so have those checked out as soon as possible.

The Filters

We all wish we could breath cleaner air, and that wish is especially relevant during the spring. Your vehicle’s air filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles or so, ensuring the one in use isn’t clogged.
